Babar Azam of Pakistan put another feather to his crown by being the fastest captain to score 1,000 runs in the 50-over format, beating Virat Kohli of India.

It took only 13 innings for the world’s number one ODI batsman to achieve the milestone.

Kohli was the first captain to score 1,000 runs in his 17th innings, followed by AB De Villiers (20 matches) of South Africa and Kane Williamson of New Zealand (22 matches).

Babar is also the only batsman in ODI history to score three hundred in a row twice.

He previously accomplished this feat in a match against the West Indies in 2016, but this time he did so in a match against the West Indies in April of this year, followed by two 100s in the second and third home ODIs.

It’s worth noting that Babar is now ranked first in the ICC batters’ rankings for T20Is and ODIs.
