KARACHI: Following the announcement of market closure by 8:30pm, K-Electric has announced its schedule for load shedding in the city.
Amid the soaring power cuts issue in the metropolitan city, the government has announced a few steps to lessen the miseries of the people including the closure of markets by 8:30pm.
K-Electric has announced the schedule for residential areas along with commercial markets.

All the exempted areas of the city will also now face power cuts for three hours daily, reported BOL News.
The Situation:
The metropolitan city has been braving nearly 14-16 hours of power outages daily that have left the already wide-eyed nation in agony.
The prolonged and unannounced electricity cuts have deepened the miseries of the people amid scorching summer and have affected the supply of water as well.
As per details, the demand for electricity in Karachi has reached 3,100 MW while K-Electric has been supplying 2,750 MW of power.

The K-Electric spokesperson said that the supply of 2,750 MW also includes 1000MW produced by National Grid station.
Reports pouring in from different areas disclosed that Surjani Town, Godhra, New Karachi, Lyari, Orangi Town, Korangi, Baldia and Landhi are the most affected ones from the recurring power outages.
Notably, former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the power cuts would be reduced to 3.5 hours from June 7 and announced that from June 16 it would be further reduced to 3 hours.
